Merry Christmas to All!

Like most of America, I am getting ready for Christmas. I love this time of year, finishing up my gifts and wrapping them up. This year I'm staying home. Since mom died, I've celebrated Christmas with my sister and her family in California. This year they moved to a small town in Iowa which I visited this summer. As much as I would love to travel, Kitty, my old dog, is failing and I'd like to stay with her for as long as I have her. So I think I'll have little gatherings over the week and just visit family and friends here. My workplace is closed from Christmas to New Year's - what a cool blessing!

I added a few extra rows before the shaping for the top of the hat just to make sure it was long enough after felting. They turned out great, I'm really happy with the look and fit.

As I have said before, I work nights, which gives
me lots of time to think. The last few nights Melanie (my lovely hat model), and I have been discussing the insights from the Celestine Prophecy. It's been a pretty lively discussion ranging from dragons, magic, music, Lives of a Cell, Eragon, fairies, the after-life, the power of prayer and positive thinking to forgiveness, gratitude and healing. I can hardly wait to see what patterns turn up in my next hat with all these exciting ideas flying around!!
